Helena (Janzen) Harder in 1917
Sister of my great-grandfather Helena Harder, nee Janzen [GM #326105] (Гардер Елена Петровна), was born on July 27th, 1890, in Schoental, Crimea, to a family of Anna and Peter Janzen. Helena had five siblings: two older sisters (Elizabeth and Anna) and four brothers (Peter, Jakob, Dietrich, and Hans).
She worked as a nurse at the Ohrloff Hospital in the Molotchna region. Then she transferred to the Grossweide Orphanage, founded in 1906 by my great-great-grandfather Abraham Harder. On November 12, 1917, Helena married his son, also Abraham Harder.
